Some new schools showed up for regionals which is great, but they were not added to the overall season standings to make it a little easier on us. The complete score totals for regionals are:

Hotel rooms for Nationals

Akron U reserved a block of rooms at a Residence Inn 10 minutes from the club. A 2 bedroom suite sleeps 6 people with 1 king, 2 queens and a pullout sofa plus full kitchen is $ 139/night plus tax. A 1 bedroom suite with 2 queens/kitchen is available for $ 89/night plus tax. (The host hotel is $109 night but is closer to the courts).

MERC 4 Results, Cleaned Out Spam Users, Forum Upgrades
Submitted by Ross Hunter on Mon, 02/08/2010 - 23:24First, the rankings for MERC 4 have been posted in the Rankings Section. The actual points results are being held as a surprise until the Regional Banquet, as such the cumulative points have not been updated.
Our site got spammed! A bunch of junk users have been joining the site, which is normal, but recently they started posting blogs, so we have disabled blogging, and new users for the time being. We will be implementing a better solution soon, but in the meantime, if you would like to become a user, use the contact form and tell us your email and desired username and we can make you a user. We are extremely sorry if you where accidentally deleted with all the junk users, we tried to make sure we kept everyone that looked like a real person, just contact us and we'll put you back in.
We recently did some upgrades to the forum that should make it a little more enjoyable to use. Feel free to give us some feedback on the site. Either leave a comment on any part of the site, or use the contact form.

New Rankings are Up
Submitted by Kelley Lavely on Sun, 01/17/2010 - 14:01These are the official point standings through MERC #3 as of 1/7/2010, as tabulated by Tracy Hawthorne (in place of Justin Labelle who was out of town), Danny & Kelley Lavely. All 3 of us got together and went through every player in every division of every tournament and came to consensus on each and every one. It was a long, pain-staking, but necessary process that was needed to resolve season-long discrepancies; we are confident not only in the process but in the results.
As you can see, in a couple of cases, team finishes changed - most noticeably the fact that OSU and CINCY Women's teams in fact TIED at MERC #3 - not the 4-point difference originally calculated! Also, GCC and SRU swapped rank finishes in the men's and combined team totals at MERC #2 from what was originally posted on the website.
We also wrote up scoring guidelines/procedures that we used to do this and will be used for the last 2 tournaments of the season. These guidelines are identical to the ones used by the USAR to score Olympic format tournaments as well as the ECRC's events. These guidelines will be distributed at the MERC 4 tournament.
So, on to MERC 4 - as you can see from how CLOSE many of the team standings are - EVERY MATCH COUNTS!!!
